PERFORMING

As well as performing as a drummer and percussionist at major venues and festivals in Australia, USA, Europe, South Africa, UK, Asia and The South Pacific, Calvin has also found his skills as a communicator and actor in demand. Over the years he has featured in TV commercials aired globally for major brands such as Verizon (US), Transitions Lenses (Worldwide), Optus, KFC and Visa (Australia) and as a featured extra in episodes of US TV crime series 'Deadly Women' (2014/2016). He has also had extra roles in movies as diverse as Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' (2013) and the American-Australian thriller '2:22' (2017). Calvin has also performed in music videos including Kasey Chambers' 'Luka' (2011), Lowrider's video 'Friend' (2010) and a series of videos featuring songs from Jimmy Barnes' 2009 album 'The Rhythm and the Blues'. In 2009 Calvin also performed in the music video 'Seduction Is Evil' by NFA (No Fixed Abode) one of two videos directed for them by Heath Ledger. In his capacity as an advocate for promoting original music Calvin curated and co-hosted 'ihearmusic presents' - live music events held at major venues in Sydney (2010-2018).  Calvin was the offical MC and guest performer at MONA Tasmania for the finale of Jane Baker's project 'The Art of Ageing' in March 2018. In 2020 Calvin became part of a new children's TV and live performance group 'The Nannas & The Poppas'.  2023 saw Calvin take on the on stage role of drummer in the State Theatre Company of South Australia's production of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill at Space Theatre, Adelaide and Belvoir St Theatre, Sydney to rave reviews.
